CoSoSys Rolls Out Mobile Device Management for iOS and Android

CoSoSys has added Mobile Device Management (MDM) for iOS and Android as a new module for its data loss prevention product, Endpoint Protector 4.3.

The company added mobile device management in response to demand from customers who have been looking for a way to deal with the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend. MDM for iOS and Android is designed to secure sensitive information stored on personal devices and discretely monitor personal mobile device use, enabling organizations "to embrace portability and mobility without compromising the security of their own business-critical data and without burdening IT," according to the company.

MDM for iOS and Android can manage both private and institution-owned mobile devices. Users enroll their devices with the network through e-mail, SMS text message, Web portal, or QR code using a one-time-code enrollment mechanism, enabling authorized access to the network and blocking unauthorized devices. IT administrators can then manage the mobile devices through a Web-based reporting and administration interface, enabling them to secure data and audit the use of devices.

Key features of Mobile Device Management for iOS and Android include:

  • Security policies enforcement;
  • Advanced password rules;
  • Device encryption;
  • Remote device lock and data wipe;
  • Tracking and device locating; and
  • Mobile apps monitoring and management.

Mobile Device Management for iOS and Android is available now as either a virtual or hardware appliance. Further information is available on the CoSoSys site.
