Portland State University Receives Testing, Measuring, and Monitoring Equipment Donation

Portland State University (PSU) has received a donation of test, measurement, and monitoring instrumentation and equipment worth more than $22,000 to its Fariborz Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The equipment was donated by Oregon-based company Tektronix and includes oscilloscopes, probes, an arbitrary/function generator, a digital multimeter, and laboratory grade power supplies that will be used to outfit engineering and science laboratories and classrooms.

As part of the donation package, PSU also purchased 10 TDS20134C oscilloscopes, seven AFG3012 units and 10 DMM4020 digital multimeters. Tektronix also recently donated six A621 Current Probes to accompany PSU's purchase of six TPS2012B Oscilloscopes through Tektronix partner TestEquity.

"Having a company like Tektronix … in our local community is a significant advantage for the university and our students," said James McNames, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Chair at PSU, in a Tektronix release. "We greatly appreciate this latest contribution and the thriving partnership and support we have enjoyed with Tektronix over the years."

The Fariborz Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University in Portland, OR, enrolls more than 2,200 students in programs that lead to undergraduate and graduate degrees in disciplines such as civil and environmental engineering, electrical and computer engineering, engineering and technology management, mechanical and materials engineering, systems engineering, and computer science.

Tektronix was founded in 1946 and is based in Beaverton, OR. The company holds 697 patents in test, measurement, and monitoring instrumentation and is a supplier of equipment for engineers focused on electronic design, manufacturing, and advanced technology development. Tektronix works with companies in a range of fields including communications, computer, semiconductor, military and aerospace, consumer electronics, education, and broadcasting.
