Emory Law Adds Real-Time Dashboard Reporting from InetSoft

Emory University's law school has ramped up its use of dashboard reporting to share data-based indicators among its decision-makers. Emory Law implemented a Web-based application from InetSoft Technology to provide visuals showing how institutional data meets up with key performance indicators. The law school is using Style Scope, InetSoft's interactive dashboard program with real-time reporting functions.
The university adopted dashboard reporting several years ago to monitor progress against specific indicators for each of its strategic goals. The provost’s office developed a dashboard that gives snapshots on student measures, such as selectivity in admissions and diversity of student body, faculty measures, such as compensation compared to peers and sponsored research and publications, and staff measures, such as turnover and average compensation compared to the market.
More recently, the law school sought a dashboard system that would be easy to use, accessible, and compatible with mobile devices and the Mac operating system.
"Our users are able to customize views to their specific needs, ranging from macro to micro level access to the data and related visualizations," said Business Analyst Sherman Roberts.
"School administrators are using exploratory dashboards to answer their ad hoc reporting questions and taking advantage of the personalization features to save their own formatted views of university performance data," added Mark Flaherty, chief marketing officer for the company.
