Verint Situation Management Security Platform Expanded

A company with a public safety situation management platform is expanding that with the addition of technology for access control and mobile reporting and response. Verint Systems' Situation Management Center integrates multiple operations into a single console to handle dispatch, mass notification, video surveillance and other functions to streamline emergency response and maintain management control over security operations for compliance and training.

Now customers will be able to request additional tools for "rapid response," said Steve Weller, senior vice president and general manager, in a prepared statement.

Verint will be working with AMAG Technology to add the latter company's Symmetry Access Control to console operations for alarm handling, door access and management of card readers.

In addition, Verint will work with NowForce to increase emergency response capabilities. NowForce software includes features for dispatching and reporting. Dispatching runs on smartphones and allows public safety personnel to dispatch to the "optimal responder," view the locations of all responders, sync users in an emergency network via the cellphone, provide a direct line to the control center and similar operations. Reporting allows a user to report an incident via a panic button and stay in touch where relevant with dispatch.

Verint customers have included Eastern Michigan University and the University of Rhode Island.
