Students Receive Free Access to Developer Tools

Students looking to design a mobile app with cloud services and IoT connectivity or develop a user-friendly online platform now have free access to a suite of application development tools. A new program from Embarcadero Technologies provides the company’s tools to public schools and universities around the world.
The Embarcadero Academics Program offers a standard classroom licensing package to any publicly funded high school or university that “achieves minimum qualifications,” according to a prepared statement. The program includes books for beginners to use its Delphi product, “an Object Pascal IDE and component library for cross-platform Native App Development with flexible Cloud services and broad IoT connectivity,” according to the company’s website. Embarcadero is offering similar packages for C++ training using the its C++ Builder and RAD Studio products.
“We believe our visual coding tools are especially well-suited for learning and want to make them easily available to aspiring developers and students,” said Atanas Popov, general manager at Embarcadero, in a statement. “We live in an age where coding skills are increasingly important and we need a growing pool of talented developers. Embarcadero is committed to advancing this goal across the globe and already supports hundreds of classrooms with our products.”
