Wor-Wic Community College Pursues Cost Efficiency With E-Procurement Software

Wor-Wic Community College in Maryland is getting a handle on institutional spending with a cloud-based e-procurement solution from Jaggaer. Handling everything from sourcing and spend analysis to contract management and AP, Jaggaer is designed to streamline and automate spending and "enable an efficient relationship between buyers and suppliers," according to the company.

Since rolling out Jaggaer, Wor-Wic has generated significant cost savings and moved procurement from a transactional function to a strategic initiative on campus, according to a news release. "Jaggaer delivers world-class technology with advanced functionality. Its comprehensive approach integrates exceptionally well with our existing systems, including Ellucian," commented Allison Canada, director of purchasing and auxiliary services at the college. "We also have the confidence of working with a strategic partner that is open, adaptable and fully committed to supporting our mission."

Formerly known as SciQuest, the 22-year-old procurement software company rebranded itself as Jaggaer in February. "The name Jaggaer (pronounced JAG-ger) is a derivative of the German word for hunter and reflects the company's ability to help track value and secure profitability," the company explained in its announcement of the name change. Jaggaer serves customers across the higher education, government, life sciences, pharmaceutical and commercial markets.
