NYU Stern Establishes New Center for Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

New York University's Stern School of Business recently announced The Fubon Center for Technology, Business and Innovation, a new hub to support cross-disciplinary collaboration. The Center, made possible by a joint $8 million gift from alumnus Richard Ming-Hsing Tsai, chairman and CEO of Fubon Financial Holding Co., and that company, will bring together several Stern academic areas: FinTech (focused on technology-enabled business model innovation in the financial sector), Business Analytics, Technology and Entrepreneurship.

The Fubon Center will focus on cutting-edge research that creates impact for business, work to build and strengthen industry ties, and shape coursework to align with the evolving business landscape, according to a news announcement. It will also support academic collaboration between Stern and National Taiwan University (Tsai's undergraduate alma mater).

"Technology demands that companies, regardless of industry, be nimble, adapt and innovate at an unprecedented rate," said Peter Henry, dean of the Stern School of Business, in a statement. "Thanks to the generosity and inspiration of our alumnus Richard Tsai, we can help transform these challenges into exciting opportunities, staying as relevant to the new economy as we are to Wall Street."
