AI Organizations Working to Expand AI Talent Pipeline

H2O.ai, an artificial-intelligence platform producer, is partnering with AI4ALL, an Oakland, CA-based nonprofit working to increase diversity and inclusion in AI and to educate future AI workers about how the technology can be a force for social good. The goal: to democratize AI.

Together, the two organizations hope to expand the AI talent pipeline and access to AI education, tools and resources for students.

One way they'll do that is to include guest speakers from H2O.ai and offer one-day mentorships during AI4ALL summer camps, which are taking place at numerous universities, including Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton, Boston, Simon Fraser and Carnegie Mellon.

Also, all AI4ALL alumni were invited to attend today's H2O World NYC, where one alum, 10th grader Amélie Buc, is part of a panel discussing women and inclusion in data science.

In July H2O.ai will participate in an AI4Kids summer camp that draws in underrepresented middle school students.

"AI4ALL has a vision of an inclusive future for AI, and mission-aligned industry partners play an important role by investing in the next generation of AI talent through mentorship, career opportunities and resources," said Tess Posner, CEO at AI4ALL, in a statement.
