University of Phoenix Expands Use of Blackboard Tech

The University of Phoenix has signed a four-year deal to scale up its use of Blackboard Learn with the Ultra experience across the institution. The implementation is expected to be complete in the first half of 2019.

The learning management system, deployed via software-as-a-service, offers a number of benefits for the university, according to a news announcement: an intuitive, responsive user interface, streamlined workflows, mobile-first design, a personalized user experience, and full integration with the institutional technology ecosystem. In addition, the university will implement Blackboard Ally for accessibility, Collaborate for synchronous collaboration and SafeAssign for originality checking.

"University of Phoenix is committed to providing an advanced and robust differentiated learning environment for its students. That environment requires integrated technologies that Blackboard is providing to support a unique connected student experience through our learning management platform," said Peter Cohen, president of University of Phoenix, in a statement. "Our continued partnership with Blackboard is helping us deliver on our goal to meet the needs of each and every learner."
