Google Introduces AI-Based Mobile Learning App

Socratic

Google is launching a revamped version of the Socratic app to help high school and college students complete their homework. The app allows students to ask questions via their voices or take photos of questions, and get answers based on educational content that the app finds on the web.

Using algorithms, the app can detect answers to questions and automatically provide users with information to understand the underlying concepts that they need to grasp. Socratic also provides students with lessons that can help break down concepts into smaller increments.

The app also offers subject guides to help students studying for tests, containing visual explanations on 1,000 higher education and high school topics.

Socratic was acquired by Google last year. The redesigned app is available for iOS devices and it can be downloaded here. Google is expecting to release an Android version of Socratic in the fall.
