ClearOne Adds New Classroom Functions to Collaboration Platform

ClearOne's cloud collaboration application has been updated with new classroom functionality. COLLABORATE Space now includes question and answer participation, providing each student with an electronic "hand raise" capability, as well as moderator control over audio and video for up to 100 participants. (Additional participants can be added to classrooms in increments of 100.) That includes the ability to transfer the presenter role to anybody else's device in the session.

The new version of COLLABORATE Space also includes multi-display support; the program can use up to three displays, one for local people, another for those who are remote and a third for content sharing.

The software has functionality for holding online meetings one-on-one or in groups. Features include scheduling, messaging, file sharing, whiteboarding, annotation and compilation of meeting minutes. It runs on various formats of devices — mobile, desktop or the company's room systems — and includes the ability to make calls to both landlines and mobile phones.

"Our robust security, as well as the special features we've added to COLLABORATE Space, are designed to address the needs of educational institutions and other organizations that seek reliable, effective engagement with remote participants from all over the world," said ClearOne Chair and CEO Zee Hakimoglu.
