Cengage has announced the launch of Cengage Unlimited eTextbooks, a new subscription option that gives students access to 14,000-plus e-textbooks, study guides, test prep and other resources for $69.99 a semester.

Included in the subscription are:

  • Up to four free hard copy textbook rentals (with a $7.99 shipping fee per book);
  • Study tools such as customizable practice tests and video quick lessons;
  • Free access to college success and career support;
  • Free resources from Kaplan, Quizlet, Evernote and Dashlane; and
  • Offline access to e-textbooks via the free Cengage Mobile App.

Students can upgrade to a full Cengage Unlimited subscription ($119.99 per semester), which includes online homework access codes and courseware.

"You don't have to look far to see that the pandemic has widened education disparities and put higher education out of reach for more students simply because they cannot afford it," commented Michael E. Hansen, CEO of Cengage, in a statement. "While at the same time, more than 40 million adults are out of work and many will need to enroll in some post-secondary education in order to reskill and find sustainable employment. Expanding Cengage Unlimited to provide another affordable option for course materials helps remove one barrier for current and prospective students."
