Purdue Global Signs Transfer Agreements with Arizona, Maryland CCs

Purdue University Global, the institution's public online campus, is signing student transfer agreements with community colleges in states other than its own. In the last month, the Indiana-based university announced articulation agreements with Maricopa Community Colleges in Arizona and Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland.

In both cases, qualifying students be able to apply their community college coursework and credits to a bachelor's degree program — as much as possible — with guaranteed admission into Purdue Global and their preferred school of study.

For MCC students, the maximum number of lower-division credits that can be accepted and applied to a bachelor's degree at Purdue Global for a complementary bachelor's degree is 86 semester credits. For AACC, it's 60 credits.

"Over a third of our students intend to transfer to a university after MCCCD, and through our partnerships with Purdue Global and other four-year universities, we can better serve students with options for continuing their journey in higher education," said Steven Gonzales, MCC interim chancellor, in a press release.

"We're happy to develop online transfer pathways with Purdue University Global for our students at AACC," added Marcus Wright, director of transfer, articulation and career alignment at AACC. "These online transfer pathways allow for more opportunities and options for our students, especially during these uncertain times."

"Transfer students should not be required to repeat courses for learning they have already demonstrated and achieved," noted Purdue Global Chancellor, Frank Dooley, adding that these kinds of commitments strongly endorse the notion of a seamless transfer.
