New Classroom Camera Tracks Instructors for Distance Learning

Audiovisual technology manufacturer Aver Information USA has launched a new camera for education that uses AI to “seamlessly track” instructors as they move around the classroom. The camera was designed with remote learning environments in mind.

The Aver DL30 Artificial Intelligence Auto Tracking Distance Learning Camera offers:

  • 2 AI-driven, hands-free tracking modes: presenter and zone, which do not rely on a lanyard or sound to follow the presenter;

  • 12x optical zoom;

  • A privacy mode, which turns off the camera and tracking;

  • Compatibility with Zoom, Google Meet, Google Hangouts and Microsoft Teams;

  • Video recording, image capture and live streaming with the free software included with the camera;

  • Support for connecting document cameras for display to remote students; and

  • Support for centralized management of hundreds of cameras.
