Old Westbury Standardizes on Single LMS
The College at Old Westbury, a comprehensive college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is standardizing on a single learning management system. The move is part of an effort to make online learning more simple and straightforward for students, according to the college.
Old Westbury switched to Angel LMS using the SUNY Master Agreement with Angel Learning. It will be used both for purely online learning and for blended learning programs.
"Students now only have to learn to use one system for both Web-enhanced and online learning, and Angel is easy to use," said Raúl Zevallos, instructional technologist, SUNY College at Old Westbury, in a statement released this week. "You can do almost anything you want with Angel. Faculty's body of assessments is saved in Angel, and they can modify assessments quickly and easily. They can also modify the Angel gradebook at anytime, add more tasks, add more points, and it isn't complicated. Faculty can accomplish their goals with Angel."
Old Westbury serves about 3,300 students and employs about 122 full-time faculty members. The college offers 45 undergraduate majors and 16 minors, as well as one graduate program in accounting.
