AVerMedia Launches 720p Videoconferencing Systems


The AVerComm HD300 offers 720p HD video, high-resolution still image capture, full recording capabilities, and a four-way multipoint control unit.

AVerMedia has launched two new high-definition videoconferencing systems offering 720p/30 HD video, content sharing capabilities, and support for a wide range of standards and formats.

The new models include the AVerComm HD100 and AVerComm HD300. They offer a native 1,280 x 720 video resolution at 30 frames per second (720p/30) with a 5 megapixel camera that includes a 7x optical zoom and pan and tilt capabilities. Other features common to both models include:

  • VGA, S-video, and composite video input and output, along with RCA audio input and output;
  • Noise suppression, automatic gain control, and echo cancellation;
  • An embedded 10 watt speaker;
  • Automatic saving of last camera position;
  • Single- and dual-monitor display support;
  • RJ-45 and USB connectivity;
  • Video standard support includes H.264, H.263, H.263+, H.261, and dual-stream H.239; and
  • For audio, support includes G.711, G.722, G.722.1, G.728, and G.722.1C.

The higher-end model, the HD300, which offers all of the features of the HD100, plus high-resolution still image capture and sharing, full recording capabilities, and a four-way multipoint control unit (for connecting multiple sites to one or more conferences simultaneously).

Both models are available now. The AVerComm HD100 sells for $2,999. The HD300 sells for $3,999. Further information about both systems can be found here.
