Florida State University Selects Web-Based Solution for IT Project Management

Florida State University (FSU) has chosen a Web-based solution for project and portfolio management in an effort to streamline IT governance, project planning, and project prioritization.

FSU's central IT organization is currently using TeamDynamixHE to manage the multi-year implementation of Oracle Campus Solutions, as well as to track multiple smaller projects through the school's IT and enterprise resource planning departments.

Designed specifically for higher education institutions, TeamDynamixHE features tools for project planning, resource management, helpdesk ticketing, time and expense tracking, project request workflows, and knowledge management.

"The fact that TeamDynamixHE focuses on the higher education market in product features and functionality is one of the main reasons why we selected TeamDynamixHE PPM," said Bob Wickham, project manager at FSU. "Rather than having to adapt our processes to fit a commercial application, we now have a tailored solution that is optimized for our environment, is easy to use, can be quickly deployed, and is priced right. In addition to leveraging the application to manage project tasks and resources across a broad section of our IT organization, there has been interest expressed in using TeamDynamixHE in other areas of the university, including our medical school, large academic departments, and telecommunications. TeamDynamixHE is a critical tool in our future IT plans."

Florida State University has enrollment of approximately 40,000 students with three campuses in Florida and more than 40 academic programs in 20 different locations around the world. Visit fsu.edu for more information.
