HireRight Integration Allows Background Checks from PeopleAdmin

Two companies that develop software to help in the hiring of new employees have allowed for the integration of their offerings in order to streamline the recruitment and employment background check process of colleges and universities. Customers can now pull up functionality from HireRight, which provides employment screening services such as drug checks, directly from within PeopleAdmin's SelectSuite for Higher Education.

The latest integration takes advantage of PeopleAdmin's recently launched PartnerConnect capability. This allows the software from other companies to work within PeopleAdmin's applications with a single login and without doing duplicate data entry.

HireRight's program provides services that include Social Security Number tracing, criminal record searching, and education and employment history verification, among other forms of screening. A personalized candidate portal that allows the applicant to view the status of a background check and access help through a desktop or mobile device. A change tracker feature helps the hiring organization identify when a candidate has made changes on his or her application during the hiring process.

SelectSuite includes functions for creating and managing hiring postings, recruiting, handling faculty searches, putting people through onboarding processes, analyzing performance management, and doing reporting and compliance work.

"PeopleAdmin has pioneered talent management solutions designed specifically for the needs of higher education organizations, and we are proud to partner with them to integrate our advanced employment screening solutions," said Marc Maloy, senior vice president of worldwide sales at HireRight. "Institutions need to attract and hire the most qualified staff and faculty, and this integrated solution helps improve their hiring process while also ensuring they are taking precautions to create a safer campus for their students and employees."

In a higher ed hiring survey report published by PeopleAdmin in November 2012, 850 HR respondents stated that their top five recruiting process challenges included the integration of hiring data with other HR systems, the delivery of reports and metrics, improvements in the hiring approval process, the management of search committees, and being effective at faculty hiring. To tackle those challenges, said company Vice President of Marketing Ellen Madonia, institutions are looking closely at talent management practices "to find ways to gain efficiencies, better utilize resources, and think about how they can improve the labor-intensive processes across the entire employment lifecycle." The report is available online with registration.
