Hobsons Teams Up with National Student Clearinghouse for Electronic Transcript Processing
Hobsons, a provider of recruitment, communication, and student success solutions, has launched a strategic alliance with the National Student Clearinghouse, a nonprofit organization for higher education enrollment and degree verifications. The alliance will enable high schools that use Hobsons' Naviance eDocs to deliver electronic transcripts through the Clearinghouse's exchange networks.
The alliance extends both companies' networks. Hobsons' existing partnership with Parchment already enables Naviance Network member high schools to submit electronic student transcripts to more than 1,500 colleges and universities. The National Student Clearinghouse's network includes more than 3,500 colleges and universities, so this partnership will significantly increase the number of higher education institutions to which high schools can send electronic transcripts through Naviance eDocs. The partnership also extends the Clearinghouse's network, which already included Ellucian, to help the Clearinghouse meet its goal of expediting the transformation of electronic transcript processing and delivery for education.
The National Student Clearinghouse's exchange networks are now operating under the its recently announced Global Registrar EduRecord Exchange Network (GREEN) principles. According to the Clearinghouse, GREEN is "a free, open, principles-driven and standards-based network to enable the secure exchange of electronic student academic records worldwide," using the SPEEDE (Standardization of Post‐Secondary Education Electronic Data Exchange) server at the University of Texas at Austin. As part of its partnership with the Clearinghouse, Hobsons will use GREEN network participants for its offerings.
This partnership is not the first collaboration between Hobsons and the National Student Clearinghouse. Last year, Hobsons integrated the Clearinghouse's education research and reporting service, StudentTracker for High Schools, with Naviance, and the organizations said they believe this electronic transcript solution will complement the StudentTracker integration with Naviance.
