Healthcare College Selects ERP Software for New Pharmacy School
A private, nonprofit, and healthcare-focused university in California has selected an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, called CAMS Enterprise, for its pharmacy college.
California Health Sciences University, located in Fresno, timed the implementation of the ERP system--which is used by schools to handle administrative tasks, such as billing, student registration, and document tracking--to the opening of the inaugural class of its new College of Pharmacy, a four-year program that ultimately awards a doctorate in the field. For students, the software offers a built-in LMS and course management system.
The school, founded in 2012, is in the midst of something of a growth spurt, with up to five doctoral schools planned or in process for its central-California campus.
"As a start-up institution, we needed a proven ERP solution that would provide a quick implementation process in preparation for our first class that started in fall 2014, but would also scale to meet our future growth needs. CAMS Enterprise is comprehensive and robust, yet easy to use and provides everything we were looking for in one, integrated system," said Florence Dunn, the school’s founding President in a statement.
Recently, a number of other pharmacy programs have adopted the software, including Husson University, California Northstate University, Keck Graduate Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, and the National University of Health Sciences. The company behind the CAMS software, Three Rivers Systems, has made case studies about the Husson and Baylor implementations available online.
