WakingApp Now Enables Anyone to Create VR/AR Content for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive
The latest release of WakingApp allows non-programmers to create interactive content and games for two popular VR headsets.
Virtual and augmented reality are hot technologies at the moment and, thanks to the latest release of a VR/AR content creation platform, non-programmers can now try their hand at creating content and games for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets.
WakingApp’s cloud-based ENTiTi Creator platform for PC and Mac allows users to create VR/AR content without technical skills. Touted as the “Wix of virtual and augmented reality,” ENTiTi features an easy-to-navigate, drag-and-drop interface that makes designing content relatively simple.
WakingApp opened its platform to the public earlier this year, allowing anyone to create content for Samsung Gear VR, Zeiss VR One, FreeFly VR and Google Cardboard. The company recently announced that its new update expands that capability to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets.
"We are on the verge of the biggest evolution that mankind has experienced. The way humans interact with our environment will be completely different," said Alon Melchner, founder and president of WakingApp, in a prepared statement. "We set a goal to enable future technologies like VR, AR and IoT so everyone will be able to take part in it not only as a viewer but also as a creator of content. Very soon the focus will shift from hardware to content. Gone are the days where an engineering degree was required to be a part of the virtual reality revolution.”
Melchner also said that WakingApp’s next update will use AR and VR as the interface for IoT.
Further information about the platform is available on the WakingApp site.
