Key Digital Launches New Technology to Enhance Video Distribution, Digital Signage

Key Digital, which manufactures technology for HDTV, has introduced three new HDMI switchers that can enhance the use of campus-wide video distribution and digital signage.

The new HD over IP devices allow an expandable system that can be scaled to fit just about any installation and can add up 1,024 Tx (transmitting) units and unlimited Rx (receiving) units for customization purposes.

The new KD-IP120Tx supports HDMI pass-through to receive video or extract audio on the transmitting side. With the new KD-IP120Tx or the KD-IP120Rx extenders, you can expand a system by up to 64 Tx units or 512 Rx units.

Other features of the new switchers:

  • The ability to connect through a network IP switch or point-to-point;
  • H.264 compression for large video distribution applications;
  • Support for managed 100BaseT or Gigabit network switches;
  • Supports for HDMI pass-through to receive video or extract audio on the transmit side;
  • Low-bandwidth data streaming technology to extend WiFi by up to 100 feet and IP over coaxial by up to 1,000 feet;
