Pearson has created an Amazon Alexa skill for its Revel digital courseware product, allowing students to access text audio, homework reminders, class schedules and more via Alexa-enabled devices.

With the free Revel skill enabled, students can say "Alexa, open Pearson Revel" to start, and then use the digital assistant to check assignment due dates, listen to assigned text on an audio playlist, and access learning content via voice command. Revel tracks students' progress across all devices, so they can move from laptop to smartphone to Alexa-enabled device and continue learning where they left off.

"People are turning to Amazon Alexa to listen to music, check the weather and news, and get reminders," noted Tim Bozik, president of global product for Pearson, in a statement. "Now they can use this familiar virtual assistant to support their learning in a way that fits how they live."
