University Creating 20,000 AR/VR Lessons

Over the next two months, Kosovo's University for Business and Technology will be using the EON Reality platform to create 20,000 augmented/virtual reality lessons across a variety of subjects. The work is the first large-scale adoption of EON Reality's recently announced Self-Directed Learning Initiative, which provides a framework for students to create their own interactive learning content as part of coursework.

Two thousand students in 14 bachelor's programs and eight master's programs at the university will be assigned to execute 10 AR/VR lessons each. The programs range from Architecture and Energy Engineering to Nursing, Integrated Design and Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. A group of "high-level educators and experts" will select the best lessons to supplement the existing curricula on EON Reality's platform, according to news announcement. "Ultimately, the goal is to build a catalog of enough high-quality lessons to offer full academic curricula in numerous subjects and languages to educators and administrators for use in both remote learning as well as in-person classes," the company said.

"By introducing this first batch of new student-created lessons to the AVR Platform, we want to show people how easy and effective it is to create lessons, courses and even entire curricula in a very short amount of time," said Dan Lejerskar, founder of EON Reality, in a statement. "It is our goal that after adding the first 20,000 lessons approximately two months from now, we'll be able to replicate that around the world for teachers everywhere and of all levels. For now, we are very pleased with how self-directed learning is helping to take the pressure off of teachers while also serving as a valuable and unforgettable learning experience for the students."
