Springfield College ERP Upgrade Moves Digital Transformation Forward

In an effort to modernize operations and improve the user experience for students, faculty and staff, Springfield College in Massachusetts is implementing Ellucian's Banner enterprise resource planning product. The cloud-based solution will "integrate systems and improve workflows across financial management, human capital management, financial aid, customer service and the institution's student information system," according to a news announcement, and enable Springfield to tap into data across systems for better decision-making.

On the back end, the move to a software-as-a-service environment will remove maintenance and administrative burdens as well as support business continuity, the announcement added.

The rollout is a key part of Springfield's digital transformation efforts, according to Mary-Beth Cooper, president of the college. "We see Ellucian Banner SaaS as an integral part of our overall strategic commitment to accelerating a digital transformation that leverages best practices, drives operational efficiencies and builds a modern, more integrated and responsive technology that meets the needs of our students, faculty and staff," noted Cooper in a statement. "Ultimately, we will be able to serve our community's evolving needs while remaining agile and affordably sustainable."
