Cisco Expands Digital Signage Solution

Cisco has announced a number of additional features for the Cisco Digital Signs system. The new version has features for content creators, system administrators, target audiences, and developers.

For content creators, Cisco said Digital Signs now makes it easier to develop signage content with new layout features, enhanced image effects, new playlist capabilities, and a library of templates. Administration is improved with proof-of-play content performance and screen status reporting so monitoring is more accurate and timely, and, if advertising is sold on the network, this provides the feedback tools.

Cisco provided new interactive applications for touch screen functionality, and there are new application program interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) so developers have more flexibility in the types and number of digital signage features they can create. Developers also have access to solutions created by other developers. The new version also offers expanded support for wireless connectivity.
