NEC Makes Digital Signage Content Platform Free

NEC Display Solutions has made its Vukunet digital signage content platform available free of charge.

The Web browser-based Vukunet content management system ties a media player compatible with common video formats to hosted weather, Reuters news, and advertising feeds for networked or standalone digital signage. The application features a drag and drop content interface, design templates, and playlist scheduling, plus local messaging and EMS interface capability.

The Vukunet ad player can also run in the background of a Microsoft Windows-based PC, delivering ad content at scheduled times independently of any playback engine used by the network operator.

While the Vukunet CMS was previously available only to NEC Display product customers and ad service subscribers, the system is now free of any initial or monthly charges.
