U Dubuque Looks To Broaden Recruitment with CRM

The University of Dubuque is trying out a new application to help expand its recruitment efforts in the Theological Seminary. The Seminary is adopting Intelliworks' constituent relationship management (CRM) program in software-as-a-service form.

"We wanted the intelligence to track our current applicants, find opportunities to expand our mission, and serve the church in new ways," said Peggy Sell, director of admissions. "We've always been excellent at responding to people who have expressed interest in our programs; but lately [we've] also been focusing on ways to reach out to new constituencies."

In a statement the university said that although it was accustomed to collecting data on its past applicants and enrolled students, it wasn't able to use that information to direct recruitment strategy because the data was stored in several different systems that didn't interact.

The CRM service provides modules for managing contacts, e-mail marketing, inquiry response, event management, retention and advancement, and reporting and analytics.

The online nature of the service also suited the admissions department, which is small. "We were looking for a Web-based, intuitive system because we don't have the resources to spend a lot of time in training," said Sell. "We chose Intelliworks because of its flexibility, reliability, and responsive support team."
