Texas Tech Students To Learn Digital Business Processes

Financial planning students at Texas Tech University in Lubbock will learn the appropriate ways to digitize the documents they work with, thanks to a donation of software by Laserfiche. The students are attending courses in a financial planning program registered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Laserfiche develops products for document management and workflow. The company donated the use of its Avante software suite, which includes Workflow and Audit Trail modules, as well as training materials for use in the university's Professional Technology in Personal Financial Planning course. The school expects about a hundred students to complete the training during the year.
"By adding Laserfiche to the curriculum, our students will gain a real-world understanding of how to digitize financial planning documents so that they are consistent, reliable, useful and accessible," said associate professor Deena Katz. "They will also learn how to use Laserfiche to facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements, giving them a concrete advantage when they enter the workforce."
Said company spokeswoman Francine Marlenee, "Ultimately, the goal is to have these graduates begin their financial practices using clean digital business processes from day one, avoiding paper tracking nightmares."
