Alpha Video and Audio has unveiled a digital signage software solution that offers active rights management, multimedia creation tools, and the ability to manage signage applications on thousands of displays through a Web-based interface.

For multimedia management and creation, the new solution, CastNET 10, offers template-based presentation creation, multiple zone media control, remote monitoring, and design tools with more than 200 effects.

New to the CastNET software line in the latest update are drag and drop scheduling, a feature that enables media to be played at a specific day and time by dropping signage play lists into CastNET 10's calender-based scheduling controls, and multiple day parting, which plays a single message multiple times in a 24 hour period.

Active right protection features include permission level assignment capabilities and the ability to authenticate users through Microsoft Active Directory. Additional features include logging tools, dynamic crawls, and automatic display data imports.

In related news, Alpha has developed a visual communication interface that integrates CastNET software with Bosch Praesideo, a public access and emergency evacuation system.

The Praesideo system uses digital audio and control signals to provide emergency voice evacuation and paging capabilities for large venues with multiple locations.

Alpha's new interface pairs emergency audio signals sent through the Praesideo system with messages or evacuation routes displayed on projectors and monitors.

The integration offers a zoning feature that can be used to display multiple evacuation routes in the locations where they are most likely to aid evacuees. Evacuation routes can also be altered based on the area where an alarm was triggered.

Alpha will demonstrate both CastNET 10 and the interface at the InfoComm 2011 conference happening in Orlando, FL in mid-June. The Praesideo system is currently available.
