Sophia Learning Launches Free College Prep Resources

Sophia.org has launched Operation College Success, an initiative designed to improve college readiness and help make college more affordable through free resources for students.

The initiative comprises College Prep Pathways, ACT Math Test Prep, and College Success Skills.

College Prep Pathways includes refresher courses in algebra, biology, and statistics featuring short tutorials and the ability to choose among multiple teachers and instructional styles.

Designed to prepare and motivate prepare students throughout their college career College Success Skills includes resources on topics such as financing college, note-taking, test-taking, preparing for online learning, study habits, and taking a proactive role in learning.

"We developed these tools because we believe it's important to make educational resources accessible to everyone, everywhere so they can achieve their goal of earning a college degree," said Allison Gage, president of Sophia, in a prepared statement. "We want to reverse the trend of students starting college unprepared and then going further in debt.  SOPHIA can help students be successful now and into the future."

In addition to the free resources, Sophia offers online classes for college credit, dubbed Pathways for College Credit, at $329 per course.
