Tulane Adopts Cloud-based Admissions System

Tulane University recently adopted a new cloud solution that aims to streamline the university's admissions process.

Tulane has implemented FolderWave's Undergraduate Admissions Module. The solution includes "document imaging and indexing, business process re-engineering, as well as the deployment of cloud-based services," according to a company statement.

The solution was implemented in response to the increasing number of applications the university receives each year, said Earl Retif, vice president for enrollment management at Tulane.

"Over time, we realized we'd reached a tipping point where a more robust infrastructure was essential to sustain a quality admissions experience,´ noted Retif. " Increased application numbers meant increased call volume, which strained resources while posing challenges to an equitable and comprehensive review. "

Since deploying the solution, the institution has been able to reduce the turnaround time for acknowledging documents and applications from "six weeks to 48 hours," according to FolderWave.

"We've seen the kind of results we were hoping for," Retif said. "Increased efficiencies and automation are allowing staff to focus more time than ever on problem solving and admission decisions. We've also seen a significant increase in the percentage of completed applications, adding even greater equity and opportunity to our process"

Additional information about FolderWave's cloud solutions can be found at its Web site.
