Desire2Learn Adds ShareStream Media Management

Desire2Learn has partnered with ShareStream to integrate the company's asynchronous  video tools into its learning platform.

Features of the integration include:

  • The ability to record live or on-demand presentations with computer hardware using multiple capture options, such as "computer hardware, software and web-based recording solutions," according to a news release;
  • The ability to upload content from Desire2Learn's capture platform to the ShareStream media management system;
  • Add media assets to Desire2Learn Web pages from ShareStream using the "Add Stuff" feature in the HTML editor; and
  • Single sign-on for the various products with complete role mapping.

"The ShareStream Platform's integration with D2L Capture and the D2L Learning Environment streamlines and automates the workflow between systems for lecture or presentation capture, media management and online course delivery," said David Weinstein, co-founder and CEO of ShareStream, in a prepared statement. "This will enable the educational-technology community to efficiently harness the boundless potential of media to transform user learning experiences as media usage for education reaches critical mass."
