Canvas Integrates AspirEDU Retention Tools

AspirEDU and Instructure have teamed up to integrate the former's student retention analytics tools with the latter's Canvas learning management system (LMS) for joint customers.

"AspirEDU's Dropout Detective analyzes the behavior and academic success of the student population by reviewing Canvas data on a daily basis," according to a news release. "Dropout Detective provides dashboards to administrators, advisors and instructors that identify students that are at risk of dropping out or failing courses. The solution can initiate automated text and email messages to those students. The Instructor Insight platform provides daily analytics on the engagement of teachers and instructors in their classes."

The new partnership will also provide a single sign-on for the two platforms.

"Canvas has a great set of tools and features but we are always looking for opportunities to deliver more functionality to our clients," said Melissa Loble, vice president of partners & programs at Instructure, in a prepared statement. "Dropout Detective addresses a critical need in today's educational landscape — student retention analytics. It is tightly integrated to Canvas and provides schools with a daily assessment of their most at-risk students. The Alliance Partnership allows us to deliver more value to our clients."
