Optoma Debuts 2 New DLP Projectors

Optoma has debuted two new single-chip digital light processing (DLP) laser phosphor projectors scheduled for availability in the next nine months.

The as-yet unnamed 4K UHD DLP ultra-short throw laser projector will be able to display a 100-inch image on a wall or screen from just two inches away. It will offer 3,300 lumens and, with 4K resolution, display more than 8 million pixels on a screen. The new projector will support the Android 5.0/Lollipop operating system and provide H.265 multimedia playback.

The new projector is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2017.

Available later this year will be the ZU510T WUXGA DLP laser projector with 5,500 lumens and a fixed lens with horizontal and vertical lens shift. It will have a throw ratio of between 1.2:1 and 2.16:1 and a digital zoom of 1.8x, meaning it will accommodate a wide range of interchangeable lenses.

The ZU510T WUXGA DLP will have two built-in 10-watt speakers and multiple inputs, including two HDMI and HDBaseT.

The two new projectors were introduced at InfoComm International June 8-10 in Las Vegas.
