Oakton CC Pilots Digital Course Materials

Oakton Community College in Illinois is working with Pearson to provide more affordable course materials to students. The institution is piloting a Digital Direct Access (DDA) program this fall, which provides 300 students in an Introduction to Business course with first-day-of-class access to Pearson's MyLab Intro to Business suite of online homework, tutorials and assessment tools.

The DDA model allows institutions to deliver digital course materials to students at a savings of up to 70 percent, according to a news announcement. In addition, educators can tap into data on student's learning activity to track and assess their progress.

In the spring of 2018, the college plans to expand the program to a Computer Information Systems Department course, where students will receive access to to Pearson's MyLab IT product.
