Salesforce.org Expands Education Data Architecture

Salesforce.org has announced Education Data Architecture (EDA), an expansion of the Higher Education Data Architecture (HEDA) that is the foundation of its Education Cloud.

The new architecture will support the needs of both higher education and K-12 institutions, including admissions and enrollment, family and community engagement, and fundraising and grants management. A new K-12 Kit (available by June 2019) will offer schools and systems an out-of-the-box way to get started with EDA, with custom fields and configurable dashboards unique to their needs.

The company also introduced new updates to Education Cloud, its constituent relationship management platform, including new solution sets for recruiting and admissions, student experience and advancement. Among the new features:

  • Einstein Analytics Strategic Services for Recruiting & Admissions, which provide institutions with a "guided introduction" to determine how artificial intelligence can be used to glean insights for recruiting and admissions;
  • Einstein Next Best Action, AI-driven recommendations on the best course of action for each student;
  • Mobile Publisher, a platform for turning websites and portal into mobile apps; and
  • Gift Entry Manager, a tool for pledge and gift management that provides flexible workflows to enter single or batch gifts (available Summer 2019).
