Capella University Opens Brick-and-Mortar Campus Center
Online institution Capella University is opening its first brick-and-mortar Campus Center. The Atlanta, GA, facility will provide local learners with in-person administrative support, including enrollment counselors, academic advisers and study/collaboration spaces. It will also host visits with local employer partners for informational sessions and networking opportunities for both current students and alumni.
Students will continue to take classes exclusively online. Capella offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, as well as certificate options, delivered in a competency-based format the institution calls FlexPath, in which students can learn on their own time at their own pace. In addition, the university's GuidedPath option offers a more structured learning format, with weekly deadlines and group discussions.
"Contemporary learners juggle multiple responsibilities while pursuing a degree, including family and work responsibilities. Capella is committed to providing a flexible education with personalized support to help them succeed," said Dick Senese, president of Capella University, in a statement. "Our goal is for the new Campus Center to serve as a networking hub for Capella learners and alumni in Atlanta and enhance their overall education and work experience."
