Campus Management Tackles Financial Aid Verification

Education technology company Campus Management has released a new application for streamlining aspects of financial aid processing. Student Verification, as it's called, helps colleges and universities automate the workflows of rules compliance and verification as well as handle communications, according to the company. The University of Wisconsin-Madison, an early customer, reported that its use of the cloud-based service has cut the time required for student verification in half.

The program provides a digital approach to document storage and transmission, tracks tasks and student progress through dashboards and enables real-time notification. Through a staff portal, financial aid professionals have access to tools that allow them to exercise their judgment when a student's circumstances or income profile changes after a FAFSA form has been processed. And configuration is available to require additional documents for comment codes that flag a student's file for review.

Students can access their personal information on mobile devices to identify and complete forms and receive automatic notifications and status updates.

Since implementing the solution, U Wisconsin-Madison has already seen a dramatic reduction in the time required for financial aid processing, and students are reacting more quickly to school-generated communications and automatic reminders about pending financial documents.

"It is now significantly easier for our students and their parents to submit the required financial aid documents in a secure electronic format and for us to communicate with them in real time with optimal transparency," said Derek Kindle, director of the Office of Student Financial Aid, in a statement. "Campus Management's Student Verification solution has helped our institution transform our entire financial aid application process for the better."
