Indiana U Modernizes User Experience and Course Scheduling

Indiana University is rolling out HighPoint Technology Solutions' user experience and course scheduling tools to revamp the way students interact with campus systems. The implementation of HighPoint Campus Experience and HighPoint Schedule Builder will go across all of the institution's seven campuses.

HighPoint Campus Experience provides an interface to Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions suite that is mobile-friendly and designed to be more comparable to consumer-facing applications. HighPoint Schedule Builder integrates with PeopleSoft to give students real-time course-scheduling tools and a variety of ways to make scheduling decisions. For instance, students can view campus locations on a map to schedule their classes according to walking and driving distances.

"While PeopleSoft Campus Solutions continues to serve us well as the foundation of our Student Information System, the user experience it provides for our students does not align with modern expectations of usability and mobile-friendliness," explained Laurie Sullivan, associate vice president for enterprise systems at Indiana University, in a statement. "HighPoint's products allow us to leverage our existing investment in PeopleSoft, while delivering a vastly improved Student Center experience that was designed with students in mind."
