New NASEF Resource Offers Esports Career Resources

The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) is working with Hitmarker to publish esports career information. Under the arrangement with the UK-based video game jobs platform, NASEF will maintain a "career pathways" resource to help young people see the many career opportunities available to them in the esports industry. NASEF is a nonprofit that uses esports to teach students STEM skills and help them develop their social-emotional learning.

The NASEF career website includes custom feeds of esports jobs, with both active paid internships for students to apply to immediately and another containing actual jobs, to help them envision future possibilities.

Hitmarker will also conduct resume and cover letter reviews for NASEF students, to help them improve their job applications; provide social media spotlights to promote students' skills to the wider industry; set up mentorship opportunities with esports professionals; and produce educational content to help young people learn about job types and career tracks in esports. Hitmarker said it would also share data with NASEF to help the organization improve its own educational content.

NASEF will be inviting members of the Hitmarker team to speak at its events and take part in one-on-one virtual sessions with students on the NASEF Advisory Board.

"Students engaged in NASEF programs learn and practice skills for careers within the high-growth esports ecosystem and related industries. This partnership with Hitmarker will help them see how many companies are hiring and for what jobs so they can prepare for their future," said Gerald Solomon, executive director of the Samueli Foundation and founder of NASEF, in a statement. "It will also give them a place to find internships so they can start on their career trajectory right now."

"We're admirers of NASEF and strong believers in their mission, and we fully recognize the power of esports in education. As such, we look forward to working with them closely for the benefit of young people across North America," added Richard Huggan, Hitmarker managing director.

"Career Pathways" can be found on the NASEF site.
