Acadeum Introduces Skills Marketplace Library of Workforce Credential Courses

Course-sharing platform Acadeum has launched Skills Marketplace, a library of over 380 online vetted workforce credential courses outside the traditional higher education curriculum.

With the Skills Marketplace, participating institutions can "turn on an e-commerce storefront to offer current students, alumni, faculty and staff, and local employer partners a range of non-credit courses and credentials," the company said.

The Marketplace expands what higher education institutions can offer their students without the time and expense of creating their own non-degree credential programs, Acadeum said. Participating colleges can access the company's non-credit course digital catalog, and also help institutions who wish to include these courses into their curriculum catalogs. Participating providers include MedCerts, Coursera, Pearson Certiport, and Muzzy Lane.

Acadeum's platform is hosted on national and regional networks through partnerships with the Council of Independent Colleges, the League for Innovation in the Community College, and the Southern Regional Education Board's HBCU-MSI Course-Sharing Consortium.

"Meeting today's evolving workforce needs and skill demands requires a new set of pathways that can weave together a number of education and learning experiences," said Rafaeil Castañeda, MedCerts senior vice president of strategic partnerships and workforce development. "This is an exciting opportunity for colleges, employers, and certification providers to collaborate and meet learners where they are –– provide flexible and validated opportunities to career success."
