New Thesis Elements Student Life Module Integrates Housing, Meal Plans, and Student Services

Student information system provide Thesis Elements recently launched a new Student Life module that enables institutions to manage student housing assignments, meal plans, billing, and other student services from within the Elements SIS platform.

"We designed this module to give Student Life leaders the necessary tools they need without wrangling with spreadsheets or chasing down student data," commented Dr. Jennifer Beyer, vice president of product management for Thesis Elements, in a statement. "Colleges have evolved the offerings provided to students looking for accommodations — it is important that their solution is flexible to support this evolution. Colleges can finally manage these operations with the ease and sophistication they expect from core academic systems."

Features of the cloud-native platform, as described by the company, include:

  • Housing Management: Configure residence halls, floors, and rooms with customizable criteria such as accessibility, athlete status, gender, or emotional support animal accommodations. Assign students individually or through application-based workflows, with future support for room selection lotteries.
  • Meal Plan Flexibility: Assign mandatory plans for first-years while offering flexible options for upperclassmen, commuter plans, and dining dollar tracking — all synced directly with billing systems.
  • Integrated Form Builder: Collect housing applications and service requests using built-in forms — replacing Microsoft Forms or external tools with a seamlessly embedded experience.
  • Automated Billing Integration: Room and meal plan selections are instantly reflected in students' billing ledgers, eliminating the need for dual data entry or reconciliation across systems.
  • Reporting Tools: Gain real-time insights into occupancy, application status, and billing summaries with customizable dashboards and exportable reports.

Future capabilities in the works include move-in/move-out tracking, maintenance requests, and parking pass management, the company said.
