Toshiba's TLP-X200UProjector With Voice Guidance

The lightweight TLP-X200U wireless 3LCD projector from Toshiba features a voice guidance system that, via an audible message, directs users through the device’s operating instructions and system warnings (such as the on/off status, lamp life, air filter checks, and cooling fan status). Weighing in at just 4.4 pounds, the TLP-X200U is less than 3 inches high and about the size of a hardcover novel. Built-in IEEE 802.11b/g wireless functionality enables presenters to easily connect their wireless laptops to the projector from anywhere in the room, and deliver sequential presentations without the need for cables. TechSmith's Camtasia Studio 6HD-Quality Videos

TechSmith has announced Camtasia Studio 6, which allows users to create professional presentations, demonstrations, and marketing videos in HD, to reach audiences online, on portable media devices, or on popular online video-sharing sites. In addition to support for bandwidth-efficient, quick-loading HD video for the web and mobile devices, Camtasia Studio 6 has new recording and editing features including: a recorder that captures full-screen videos and remembers the user’s settings for faster re-recordings; customizable editing hotkeys; the ability to edit audio and video independently and move audio from one track to another; a tilt feature for creating 3D perspective in videos; and more. Perceptive Software has announced ImageNow 6.2, the latest version of the company’s flagship document management, imaging, and workflow software suite. Many of the solution’s new features are based on feedback from the ImageNow user community. Key enhancements include: new view functionality, providing user-specific content access via customized, predefined views; enhanced support for Microsoft Office; improved web-based document capture; taskbased workflow; enhanced output support (allowing users to package and output a group of documents to file, printer, fax, or e-mail); automatic form recognition; and more. Dimdim's Dimdim Virtual Classroom PackHosted Web Conferencing

Videoconferencing software developer Dimdim has released Dimdim Virtual Classroom Pack, a web-based conferencing solution designed for education. The hosted service allows educators to communicate with up to 40 students at a time in their own online classroom environments. Features include: customization for instructors, including landing pages, logos, and other images; integrated support for video chat (allowing instructors to remotely enable any student’s webcam and broadcast it to everyone in the classroom); and built-in VoIP service, including 10 free audio conferencing accounts. Price: $2,199 per year for 10 teachers, with 40 students per virtual classroom.

Tandberg's Content ServerAutomatic iTunes Uploads

Tandberg has announced a new version of its Content Server that enables easy sharing of video through Apple’s iTunes U (www.apple.com) and integrates with Podcast Producer (a feature of Mac OS X Server). Users now can send recorded video content for further editing, publishing, and distribution to any blog or Apple device, with just one click. The solution allows anyone using videoconferencing endpoints to record content such as a lecture or training seminar, and to convert the recording into a format compatible with iTunes, for automatic upload to iTunes U. Proxim Wireless' Orinoco AP-8000High-Throughput 802.11n

Broadband wireless vendor Proxim Wireless has announced the Orinoco AP-8000 (pictured) and AP-800 802.11n dualradio and single-radio (respectively) access points, boasting greater than 300 Mbps throughput performance, with dual-radio throughput rates of 320 Mbps. The solution works within the 802.3af (power over Ethernet) power requirements in both single- and dual-radio 11n configurations, avoiding the cost and hassle of additional wires and power injectors to each AP. The APs also support dynamic frequency selection globally in all 5 GHz bands, eliminating the worry of network interoperability and interference, and support all radio combinations for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, providing flexibility for deployment in various environments. Price: $1,099 for the AP-8000; $799 for the AP-800.
