eOn, Esnatech Partner To Develop UC Platform for Education

eOn Communications and Esna Technologies have paired up to release a unified communications suite for education aimed at helping institutions automate and streamline "core processes."

Dubbed the eNterprise IP Messenger application suite, solutions include mass notification, absence tracking and reporting, a speech-enabled teacher locator, presence-enabled school listings, homework hotline, and unified messaging capabilities. Other features include the ability to connect to a student management system for dynamic call and e-mail list creation, as well as access to system messages from any telephone or Internet-enabled device.

The new system is built on eOn's eNterprise IP Messenger unified communications platform and is optimized for use with the company's communications systems. Schools can also integrate the system into their existing infrastructure. According to the announcement, the platform will be available this month from eOn channel partners throughout North America.
