Acrobat.com Expands Collaboration Features

Adobe has expanded the features of its online collaboration tool, Acrobat.com. The new features, rolled out Nov. 21, include mobile support, organizational improvements, and Flickr and Google Image integration, among other enhancements.

Acrobat.com is an online productivity and collaboration suite comprising document sharing, PDF creation, word processing, online video/audio conferencing, and various other tools. In its latest incarnation, the suite has added a new mobile component from scanR, which lets users upload file images from mobile devices, which are stored as searchable PDFs. It also lets users read files from their phones, share files, and fax files from the Acrobat.com organizer.

The update also includes:

  • Adobe Kuler integration for browsing and applying color sets to presentations;
  • Google Image and Flickr integration, including image preview and import;
  • Support for importing and exporting PPT/PPTX files;
  • Table export to PDF, XLS, and CSV; and
  • Export to the eBook format EPUB via Adobe Buzzword (part of Acrobat.com).

In addition, separate from the upgrades introduced Saturday, Adobe ConnectNow, the desktop sharing and audio/video conferencing component of Acrobat.com, now supports Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). Previously it was compatible only with Mac OS X through 10.5.x.
