Apogee Implements New Billing and OSS Software for Resnet

Apogee, the Austin, Texas-based provider of on-campus residential networks for higher education institutions, has implemented new billing and operations support system (OSS) software.

Apogee has grown considerably over the past 12 months, and its search for a reliable billing and OSS solution that would accommodate its projected growth lead to LogiSense EngageIP, which is designed to automate, optimize, and simplify the delivery and management of IP services and products.

Key features of LogiSense EngageIP include:

  • NET web-based platform;
  • Microsoft SQL Server database;
  • Ability to run on servers located on-premises or in a hosted environment;
  • Ability to operate on a single server or in a multi-server environment with redundancy, load balancing, and data partitioning; and
  • Support for role-based permissions, so anybody can use it, including administrators, support staff, and even customers.

“As service demand grows for broadband and media access across multiple devices, campus administrators are realizing that it is much more cost-effective to outsource for managed network services,” said Nat Nealeigh, Apogee Director of Marketing and Communications. “With the tools LogiSense provides us, we can now offer specialized services such as tiered plans, flexible access periods, and guest access.”

Apogee planned its full-scale implementation of LogiSense EngageIP for August 2011, so it will be in place when students return to school and register for access to their on-campus networks.
