New England Institutions Streamlining Student Transfer Process

The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) is partnering with CollegeSource to offer students access to the company's transfer solutions: Transfer Evaluation System (TES) and Transferology. The rollout, part of NEBHE's Cost Savings Programs, is designed to enable efficient student transfer, mitigate course credit loss and increase overall transparency across the full transfer process, according to a news announcement.

TES allows administrators to research transfer credit, track evaluations and manage equivalencies between institutions. Transferology is a nationwide open transfer network that provides students with access to course-to-course and program-to-program transfer equivalencies, to help them make decisions when transferring higher education credits.

"One of the effects of the pandemic will be a dramatic increase in student transfer rates over the next few years. Course credit loss can hinder success among transfer students by increasing the time to degree and the costs of completing a degree, so having access to tools for unifying the transfer experience and preserving credits is critical," said NEBHE President and CEO Michael K. Thomas, in a statement. "TES and Transferology are valuable transfer navigation tools for our higher education institutions and students alike."
