Kahoot! Releases Higher Ed Editions

Learning platform Kahoot! has launched a new study companion for higher education students. Kahoot!+ Study, a subscription product, is meant to energize students as they move through their courses with the use of "friendly competition and interactive, playful learning."

Kahoot!+ Study includes several new question types: multi-select answers, puzzle and poll. It also includes the ability for students to invite friends to study together virtually or in-person, in up to three study groups. They can also create sets of quiz questions ("kahoots") with up to 50 players.

A premium edition adds even more new question types (type answer, open-ended question, word cloud and audio in questions); team mode play with up to three teams; up to five study groups; and up to 100 players per Kahoot! session.

The standard version is $5 per month; currently, the company has a limited-time offer of $2.50 per month, billed annually. The premium edition is $8 per month, with a limited-time introductory offer of $4 per month, billed annually.

A free basic version is still available for students.

"As students gear up for final exam season, it's the perfect time for them to transform their study sessions into impactful experiences that spark excitement for learning," said Eilert Hanoa, CEO of Kahoot!, in a press release. "Millions of students around the world already know and love Kahoot! from playing in class, with friends and family for game nights or to make learning at home more engaging. We're excited to launch Kahoot!+ Study to offer students a new and powerful way to take study to the next level."
