Turnitin and ACUE Partner on AI Training for Educators

Turnitin is teaming up with the Association of College and University Educators to create a series of courses on artificial intelligence and academic integrity designed to help faculty navigate the responsible use of AI in learning and assessment. ACUE Commons members will be able to access the courses alongside the organization's existing "Quick Studies" catalog of self-paced learning content on topics such as AI, workforce readiness, well-being, and more.

Features of the new courses include:

Expert-led insights and strategies for evaluating and applying AI ethically and effectively in teaching;
Collaborative professional development opportunities that enable faculty to connect, share, and develop best practices; and
Joint resources for keeping student outcomes at the center of AI innovation.

In addition, ACUE is launching a series of "endorsements" that will recognize ACUE-certified faculty for upskilling in timely topics. The Quick Studies produced in partnership with Turnitin will be part of a new "AI for Educators" endorsement.

"Educators require both confidence and clarity to navigate the surge of AI in academic life," said Zemina Hasham, chief customer experience officer at Turnitin, in a statement. "By joining forces with ACUE, this partnership delivers not just technology, but trusted guidance that enables institutions to uphold integrity and foster a culture of inspired learning."

"This partnership brings together the high instructional standards of ACUE's courses with the high academic integrity standards of Turnitin to deliver a timely, robust solution for colleges and universities," said Julie Candio Sekel, ACUE's Executive Director of Content and Learning Innovation, in a blog post. "Both organizations are committed to supporting faculty in facilitating academic experiences that ensure students are actually learning and deepening their critical thinking skills. We believe that educators require confidence, competence, and clarity to navigate AI effectively, and this partnership is built to deliver exactly that."
